We are a luxury inspired, independent fashion label founded by Fashion Design and Marketing Graduate, Charmaine XY Liu. Our mission is to celebrate quality, craftsmanship, and creativity. We believe in enduring, refined pieces designed for many occasions to come. Our eponymous label pays homage to our founder’s Chinese heritage and identity.
Meet our Designer
The founder and designer of CXYL, Charmaine XY Liu, was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Growing up, Charmaine harboured ambitions to become an artist, influenced by her father who was a professional shan shui (山水) painter. In her pursuit on this creative path, Charmaine has produced work that has gained national recognition including winning the Young Australian Art Awards at 15. However being ever so interested in expanding her creative skillset, Charmaine's career in fashion began at 16, volunteering backstage at fashion shows including the Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival and working her first fashion retail job at Calvin Klein.
Prior to completing her HSC, she graduated the Whitehouse Institute of Design from a year long design programme, which provided her confidence to consolidate her ambitions within the fashion industry. Following her graduate collection at the University of Technology, she founded CXYL whilst juggling her full-time work at Gucci within the ecommerce department.

Our pieces are proudly designed in Australia, and ethically crafted in our founder's hometown in the southern region of China.

We prioritise working with low MOQs to avoid overproduction, and to source ethical manufacturers. We pride ourselves in our design process and practices.
